Skilled roles

For our fun and safety minded people, your knowledge and skills help keep camp running with excellence.  Many of these roles maintain consistency in our procedures and programming as they provide supervision to key areas of camp.  Coming in with experience is helpful and a teachable spirit is necessary as you apply your knowledge to the camp setting.

FIRST AID CONSULTANTS (FAC)

  1. Age 21+ preferred; Valid driver’s license required

  2. Minimum of 2nd year nursing student; RN preferred

  3. Assess and address health needs of campers

  4. Maintain accurate records of forms and paperwork

  5. Daily medication administration to campers

  6. Cultivate a welcoming and clean First Aid Station

  7. Other programmatic duties as needed

WATERFRONT DIRECTOR (WFD)

  1. Certified lifeguard required, with waterfront component preferred

  2. Supervise and schedule lifeguard chores and shifts

  3. Maintenance and general upkeep of pool, lake, pool bathhouse, and related facilities

  4. Lifeguard

  5. Other programmatic help as needed

Logistics specialist

  1. Age 21+ preferred

  2. Facilitate all adventure activities (climbing wall, low and high challenge course, canoeing, caving, etc.)

  3. Creatively plan and implement recreational and skill-building activities

  4. Encourage camper excitement and enthusiasm during activities

  5. Other programmatic help as assigned

camper support specialist

  1. Minimum age of 21+ preferred

  2. Help campers with a diverse array of abilities and social and emotional needs to positively engage in camp

  3. Coach and encourage counseling staff as they care for campers

  4. Intervene when appropriate to prevent or resolve issues with campers

  5. Other programmatic duties as needed

WORSHIP LEADER 

  1. Work with MD, WD and SVPD to create cohesive time of worship

  2. Plan and lead songs for campers – both silly and worshipful

  3. Ability to sing and play an instrument competently, solo in front of groups of children and adults

  4. Sleep in cabin or shelter overnight

  5. Other programmatic duties as needed

DAY CAMP Assistant Director

  1. Assist Day Camp Director

  2. Secure support staff help for weekly activities

  3. Teach curriculum lessons

  4. Gather supplies needed for activities

  5. Coordinate meals for Day Camp Staff
